THE FYZUNTU INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE – APRIL NEWSLETTER
April has kicked off with drama, surprises, and standout performances across the league. From cup shocks to big moves in the rankings, there’s plenty to catch up on.
🏆 CUP ACTION: NEWCOMERS MAKE THEIR MARK
The knockout cup delivered instant excitement as Cambridge Capybaras pulled off a stunning result against last season’s holders, the Saxon Spears. After a thrilling 4–4 draw, it all came down to dice points, with the Capybaras edging through by just seven. A razor-thin margin and a huge statement from the newcomers.
There was an even bigger shock elsewhere. The 2024 champions, the Thai Dragons, were knocked out in emphatic fashion, suffering a heavy 10–0 defeat to the Towcester Senators. A result few saw coming, and one that throws the competition wide open.

📊 LEAGUE UPDATE: WHO BURNS CAKES TAKE CONTROL
At the top of the league, Who Burns Cakes have hit top form, opening up a clear lead over rivals Saxon Spears and the UK All Stars. It’s been a dominant stretch that’s setting the pace for the season.
A special mention goes to the Bangkok Trumpeters, who enjoyed an outstanding month. Tanawat surged up nine places to 13th in the player standings after collecting 100 ranking points, while sister Teerapat (Pat) wasn’t far behind, climbing six places herself.
Consistency is proving key this season. Amanda (Thai Dragons) and Tanawat (Bangkok Trumpeters) are currently the only players to have claimed Player of the Month twice, putting them firmly in the spotlight for Player of the Season.
At the very top of the player rankings, Denise of Who Burns Cakes leads the way with 345 points. Close behind are Big D (Saxon Spears) and Will “The Legend,” (Welsh Longbows) both tied on 293.

🎯 TEAM TARGET COMPETITION: TOO CLOSE TO CALL
It’s incredibly tight at the top. Who Burns Cakes lead with 14 points, but just one point separates them from a chasing pack that includes the Albion Eagles, Chester Jellies, USA Large, and Towcester Senators, all sitting on 12.
Every match matters here, and this one could go right down to the wire.

🎯 BULLSEYE COMPETITION: PRIZES BUILDING
The Chester Jellies were the big winners this month, with Evan and Keira both claiming awards totalling £8. Jake (Cambridge Capybaras) and Marky (Saxon Spears) also picked up prizes.
The Bullseye accumulator continues to grow, now standing at an impressive £410. With that total rising, the stakes are getting higher every round.
